Help Me if You Can I'm Feelin Down

Dad cried when listening to the Beattles song the other day. "Help me get my feet back on the ground. Won't you please, please help me." I can't believe what my poor Daddy has gone through. I wish I could do it for him. I guess that's what Jesus did for us. He carried the pain of our world, the suffering, and the consequence of our sin. I think God can relate to how we feel...he sees, hears, and feels our pain.

Today, the name of the game is neck pain and fluid reduction. Milan's back and neck must be a chiropractor's nightmare. Spreading ribs open is bound to create some displacement. He complains more of neck pain than incision discomfort. Also, please pray for a regular heart beat and consistent blood pressure. Sleep seems to help, but he is so sleep deprived that he keeps falling right into REM sleep, where dreaming occurs. Suddenly, people appear in his room or he finds himself in places that feel as vivid as real life. I'm praying he'll fall asleep and find himself with God or flying or something fun:) He just told me he was in church in his last doze, so that's a start.

Also, his fluid retention is subsiding, but still an issue. They need to rehydrate his body, while removing fluid from his lungs, heart, and places it shouldn't be. I'll tell you one thing: we take our bodies healthy function for granted. After seeing all the delicate balances that must be regulated, I'm amazed we're all walking and living day to day without more problems. Sometimes I wonder if we'll ever get out of here. I'm overwhelmed by all the things that must fall into place before Dad can come home. I just have to remember God is so much bigger than this. I remember hiking Half Dome, feeling amazed by how God merely spoke our world into place. He holds Daddy in his almighty arms, controlling every breath and pulse with knowing hands.

Kelly,
Thank you so much for all the updates. What a blessing you are!

Milan and Kay,
You both (and family) are continually in our prayers. We hope you will be coming home soon. It is so hard to get rest and a good sleep in the hospital with all that goes on there. Unfortunately, the minute you do fall asleep someone probably wakes you up for vital signs, meds, another lab test, or they come in to clean the room. It can be so frustrating.
May God's arm's hold you, comfort you and may you feel his peace surround you.
Love, Chris and Terry

Kelly - What a beautiful young lady you have become, in all ways. I last saw you somewhere around 1991 when we then moved again. I had been in a small group with your mother for quite some time. Your parents are very special people and I will continue to pray for complete healing - and peace in the process! Give my love to your mother! Barb Richardson

Milan & Kay.....you are in our prayers. We know first hand what you are going through as a son had to have the aorta valve replaced. Things will get better. We are in God's time frame and what we want now sometimes He says later. But the bottom line is He never leaves us. Praying for all of you. Carrie & Rowland Keenan

Milan, Kay and Kelly -

Today Frank (my dad) and I are praying out of Psalm 25:16-22 for Milan. May God turn to Milan and be gracious to him and deliver him from all his troubles.

May God's peace be upon your whole family.

Hi Yerkovich family,
Just wanted you to know that we are praying, praying and praying some more for you. We understand firsthand what it is to be carried on the wings of the prayers of others through what seems to be impossible and exhausting circumstances. May He keep you in his perfect peace as you keep your mind and heart stayed on Him. He is truly faithful even when we can't see any purpose for the cruddy circumstances that we are in at times. Hang in there and know that you are deeply loved by us!

Hi Kelly,
Once again we just want you to know that we are keeping your dad & mom and you in our prayers. We are far away from you in physical miles but very close through prayer. Prayer touches the heart. I am praying Phil. 4:6&7 right now and...God's timing is so amazing....it ends with the promise that God's peace will guard your dad's heart and mind - and those are the 2 things right now that your dad needs guarding the most - his heart that it will be strong, and his mind that he can get some good sleep. It says to me that God is protecting your dad to the core of his being. God bless all of you.

Dear Milan, Kay and family,

I am just so touched by reading all these real, candid emotions - Milan would cry over hearing a Beattles song (not necessarily a hymn), Milan would hit an emotional wall, Kay would feel exhausted and done, ... I thank God for such a transparant, God-centered family, that can fully integrated God's grace and power with acknowledgement of human natural emotions and moments.

I pray with my full heart for complete and quick recovery. Milan will be back on his feet soon with a big grin and clean hair and shave, proclaiming the good work the Lord has done. May the Holy Spirit grant all our souls be at rest once more.

Love, James and Melinda (Tree of Life church in Fremont, CA)

I'll try this again. Milan, Kay and family, especially Kelly who I appreciate so much for doing this wonderful blog. I have been praying continusously since I firsrt hear the news. I also sent e-mail to Gloria and Richard Edes, they live in WA state now. I am praying for full recovery, sound sleep, and God's gracious hand on the doctors and your whole family's life. Last comment I wrote didn't seem to make it hope this one gets to you. Much love and hugs marilyn mc cann

Dear Papa and Nana,

I miss you both so much! I can't wait for you to come back home. I can't wait for you to hold me, sing to me, make silly faces and play with me. I'm sitting up so good now and I can really keep my balance! But most of all, I can't wait for Papa and Nana hugs and kisses!
I love you so much!
Love, Baby Holland

Dear Milan and Kay,
As so many Gary and I have been lifting you and your family up in prayer. So happy to see that you are home in your own surroundings. We are praying for your complete recovery, lots of rest and that peace that only comes from our Lord. You are an amazing couple...please take care of yourselves.
Thank you, Kelly as well for keeping all of us updated on your Dad's progress. It has been so helpful to know how to pray.
You are loved by many but loved more by our Lord. May you feel His loving arms around you today.
Blessings,
Debra and Gary Luke

Dear Milan and Kay,

My husband and I met you both last year at SeaCoast Grace Church. We were very inspired by your discussion. We purchased your book and workbook, and we receive your weekly emails. Therefore, you both have been a part of our lives ever since that day. We are so very sorry to hear that you and your family are going through this difficult time. We will pray for Milan's condition to continue to improve. We will pray for your family.

May you feel God's peace at all times,

Heather McCarty
